".......Because
we care!"

Gill's Veterinary Clinic
provides complete diagnostic and treatment facilities for small animals.
We have two examination and treatment rooms for small animals, a surgery
room, a diagnostic imaging room, a diagnostic laboratory, kennels and
catterles for in-patients as well as boarding facilities, and a pet food
and pet accessories shop.
The Clinic's treatment and surgery rooms
feature gas anesthesia, dental scaler and polisher, scanning ultrasound
equipment, a high resolution x-ray machine and x-ray film processor.
The kennels and catteries are utilized for both
in-patients as well as boarding of pets whilst owners are away on
business as well as holidays. The clinic has its own generator for use
in the event of a power failure.
For the care of companion animals,
Gill's Veterinary Clinic has a chemistry lab equipped for
performance of many routine tests and procedures. In the event of
requiring an extensive blood profile of a patient, the clinic is able to
provide such a service via a well-known private laboratory 24 hours a
day.
Due to evergrowing expectriate clientle, the clinic
does provide services in the handling of pets on the move, especially
with regards to liasing with foreign laboratories and the local
government veterinary services in the processing of import and export
permits for their pets.
Consulting Rooms and Pharmacy
Three consulting rooms ensure that
appointments run to time and provide privacy at your consultation.
The well stocked pharmacy means that the very best of modern drugs are
available for an immediate start to therapy and for collection of
repeat prescriptions.
Laboratory

An extensive range of modern laboratory
equipment allows blood testing for haematology, biochemistry and
electrolytes to be processed in the practice. Consequently an
accurate and rapid diagnosis can be made which reduces anxious waiting
by our clients and gives no delay in starting treatment. Pre-anaesthetic
blood sampling allows screening to ensure safer anaesthesia and
surgical recovery.
Other equipment
allows analysis of skin, hair, faeces and urine samples. The practice
also employs the services of various specialist laboratories when
necessary.
Preparation Room And
Theatre

A large double operating theatre makes
certain your pet has no delays in receiving surgery if an emergency
occurs. The anaesthetic machines, circuits and piped gases in this
area ensures your pet receives the best and safest anaesthetic agents
available.
With all pets, pre-anaesthetic blood screens will be offered which
allow the selection of the most appropriate anaesthetic agent.
All our surgical patients receive the best available pain killers to
aid in the most stressless and painless recovery possible.
A separate preparation area ensures maximum sterility is maintained
throughout our theatre area. The equipment kept ready for use in this
area includes an electrosurgery unit, an electrocardiogram (ECG),
flexible and rigid endoscopes, a dental unit and tub table, an
autoclave, fluid therapy transfusion equipment and a wide range of
surgical accessories.
X-Ray Room And Dark Room

A separate area for radiography gives
immediate access to this facility and same day results of your pet's
radiographs.
Ultrasonography

Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging procedure that complements X-rays
and allows our clinicians to better visualize internal organs in the
chest and abdomen. This painless diagnostic technique is normally done
without sedation of your pet.
In
the past blood profiles, x-rays, dye studies, and exploratory surgery
were the most common tools used in veterinary medicine to diagnose
disease.
In human
and veterinary medicine, ultrasound compliments x-ray evaluations as
each diagnostic modality has it's own strengths and weaknesses. X-rays
offer excellent evaluation of bone structures and air filled
structures (lungs) that ultrasound cannot. In contrast, ultrasound is
best at diagnosing abnormalities within organs (liver, spleen, kidney,
heart) and evaluations of an organs function such as the heart by
direct visualization of the heart while in motion. Once the
abnormality is found it can be measured for later comparison.
Cattery And Kennels

The separate cattery and kennel areas are
spacious, hygenic and comfortable. Two large walk-in kennels are
available for our large patients and an outdoor run caters for
exercise and toilet requirements during hospitalisation. These areas
are constructed to ensure maximum privacy and quietness for our more
anxious patients. In addition there is an isolation facility for
animals suffering from infectious diseases.
Intensive Care Unit
Despite being a modern purpose built
surgery, we continue to improve the facilities. We have recently
equipped an extra storage space as a dedicated intensive care unit for
our critically ill patients.
Pet Shop

This area is stocked with the many
prescription only diets which are available for pets with specific
conditions such as kidney and liver problems, diabetes and many other
conditions where diet is possibly the only and best way of controlling
the disease..
