Dr. Gurdev Singh Gill is the founder and practice manager of Gill’s Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Gurdev was born and raised in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (Malaysia). He graduated from Bihar Veterinary College (Patna, India) in 1968. He returned to Malaysia almost immediately and started his career as a Veterinary Officer with the Federal Veterinary Services of Malaysia. In 1969, he married Daljit and continued his career with the Penang Island City Council Veterinary Department. Between 1969 and 1982, he served as a Veterinary Officer with the Penang Island City Council Veterinary Department, both at the abattoir and the animal infirmary.

 

In 1982, he established Gill’s Veterinary Clinic. Interested in all aspects of companion animal practice, he has had extensive experience in internal medicine, surgery, behavioral science and animal welfare. Participating in veterinary and animal welfare conferences both at home and abroad, Dr. Gurdev has kept abreast with current therapies and issues pertaining to companion animals.

 

His hardworking, enthusiastic, determined, approached towards his patients coupled with his years of experience as a no-nonsense veterinarian has made him as well as his practice renowned not only in Penang but also within Malaysia.

 

Whilst still playing an active role in ensuring that all goes well at the practice, Dr. Gurdev has a strong interest in giving back to society, via Rotary as well as SPCA.

 

In his spare time, Dr. Gurdev being a devoted father enjoys time spent with the family. His other interests include gardening, trekking, golf and keeping abreast with worldly affairs.
